Tha Hoosemairtes consist of:
Duncan is an incredibly well rounded musician and a brilliant front man.
His acoustic guitar playing can be powerful or incredibly intricate, at the drop of a hat. He has a wealth of experience from many different genres and musical styles, which give him a unique perspective. He is a true professional and lives eats and breaths quality guitar playing. He knows how to maintain and keep an audience and is renowned in the Leicestershire area.
David Jacobs - Tin Whistles, Acoustic bass, 5 string banjo, mandolin, vocals
Dave is no stranger to performing in live bands, but this type of acoustic music is new to him. "It is something I've been harking on about for years but never had the courage to do....until now"! Dave has played bass for many years, with various outfits, but finds that playing mandolin allows him greater control of the music, and the direction he wants to take.
Nigel Pretty - Drummer
Nigel came into Tha Hoosemairtes, having never heard us before and with no prior warning. His first gig was in Wombourne and instantly added something different to what we were doing.
It's a difficult job, as he has to fill out the bass parts when Dave is playing the mandolin. Nigel has a unique sound, with a knowledge of many different styles of music - he brings a jazz/funk feel to the music, and incredible dynamics.
Not forgetting our original member and now Dep Drummer for when Nige is not available!
When you hear how Warren plays the drums, how he interracts with those around
him - and how he lights up the eyes and ears of anyone in earshot, it's easy to understand why everyone wants to be in a band with him! Dave says "From the outset, it was clear to me that Warren is an exceptional musician. I have played with a lot of drummers, and he definitely has a special musical talent"! Dunc says, “I hear these amazing fills coming from behind me! I turn around and there he is with a big daft grin"!
